It is with deep sadness that The Crescent Educational Foundation of Detroit shares the passing of our fellow board member and friend, Lorne L. Brown, Esq., on July 16, 2026.

Lorne devoted his career to justice, serving as Deputy Public Defender for Washtenaw County, and he brought that same commitment to our board, where he helped open doors to education for young people across Metropolitan Detroit.

A proud graduate of the University of Michigan and a devoted brother of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Lorne lived out the ideal of service to others. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, his fraternity brothers, and all who loved him.
